BIBLIOTIC IV Congress, Colombia from June 14 to 18 of 2012.
As we have done in all the past congress, we have count with the participation of local and international experts from all over the world, we want to increase and keep an open discussion space to analyze the study cases of the librarians and their approach to strength the function of knowledge management and usage of the information on private and public scenarios, our year’s theme is: “Access of Information Management and Research”
"Colombia has made and continues making great efforts to reach all people with basic library services to improve reading levels and communication skills among citizens," said Ana Roda, Director of the National Library of Colombia when the Bill Gates Foundation got interested in increasing the development of local initiatives as a continuation to the Access to Learning Award to the EPM Foundation, both organizations have participated in BIBLIOTIC sharing their experiences.
The Congress is supported by Universities such as Uniempresarial and Universidad Javeriana, and by big national organizations such as ACIEM and many other institutions related to the topics we will have, which includes: Digitalization, digital books, institutional repositories, Data mining, Open Access, Digital content policies, Strategic Surveillance among others.
Bibliotic it’s a free congress, and also will include 14 different workshops for professionals of information management. These workshops have been created to improve the services offered by libraries, archives and documentation centers.
