Hi,
I'm an MLIS student at the University of Oklahoma. I hope to finish at the end of 2007. I'm very interested in how new technologies can improve library services. I've been practicing Library 2.0 by administering a wiki called www.ambientlibrarian.org.

Hello Jennifer I am new too. Joined a few hours ago. Maybe you can help me as well. What do you think students at universities want in services? Text messaging? Reading librarian blogs?
I think university students might really like to have some sort of virtual reference service. This could be done using IM software, rather than expensive virtual reference software. At the OK Library Association conference, I heard a brief presentation by Robin Leach of OK State University. They've been piloting IM: http://www.library.okstate.edu/services/im.htm.

Hope that helps!
:) welcome Jennifer!

Would you be embarrassed if I shared the Oklahoma Magazine with the group?
Yes, but just because those questions were so embarrassing to have to answer :} I don't mind if you do.

Thanks!
Check out Jennifer here http://okmag.com/index.cfm?id=35&fortyID=37
She was selected as one of the state's 40 under 40 -- :)
Jennifer is a true up-and-comer. Remember her name. You'll be hearing it a lot in the future.
No pressure!

Thanks, guys ;)
