Librarians who Joomla!

There seem to be a few of us on here using Joomla! http://www.joomla.org/ content management system, so I thought I'd start a new thread on the topic. Come share your insights and ask questions!

What are you using Joomla for? Public site? Staff intranet?

Do you have any favorite modules/mambots/components?

Are you using Joomla in a small environment? The role management in Joomla is almost non-existent, so I decided not to use it for non-private sites.

Love my Joomla! We use it for 3 sites here at Howard County Library. First and foremost my baby which is our Staff Intranet. We also use it for our Choose Civility web site and our PCs4Kids site. Although I've had my hand in on the other two the Staff Intranet has been my main focus. Having never used a CMS before I had a bit of a learning curve at first. Had to get my head around things (used to just straight HTML pages). Now, I'm constantly at Joomla.org or looking for new extensions, modules or components. And yes, as Adri said visit the Joomla In Libraries site.

Hey! As a capstone for our digital libraries certificate at Syracuse University, we recently created a digital library using only open source applications. Joomla was our CMS and I really enjoyed it's ease of use. I had a little trouble dealing with image uploads, but I found that the ability to really customize the navigation systems was key to our site's success...

What kind of metadata did you track in your digital library? Did you use any Joomla extensions, for example the Dublin Core Extended extension?

We're looking at moving our public site to Joomla. I would like to know how some of you who are using it structured your sections/categories, as I can't decide how we should structure it yet.
