Hey everyone, I am a Reference Librarian at the Collier County Public Library in Naples, FL. We are about as far south as Miami, but on the west coast of the peninsula. Stephen Abram spoke at last spring's Florida Library Association conference, and I think he scared a lot of people. But I was excited. There are so many new and interesting things coming that we get to be a part of! But we are having a budget crisis in the state of Florida and I think we will have to be creative if we want to move with the times.

Hi Anna, I was at the FLA Conference too, and heard Stephen Abram. Yes, it was a great speech. I think open-source technology has to be integrated into library Web sites to stay abreast with what the the users are doing, and the rest of society. This is a great site to share. Welcome to Library 2.0! Julie
Hi Anna,
I agree that Internet 2.0 is exciting, not least for the opportunities it offers for creative thought. Michigan libraries are also experiencing budget cuts, so I am also trying to find ways to stay abreast of this flood of new information - without going over budget! It's great to have this site as a source of ideas and fresh approaches.
