librarian searching for e-portfolios and online cv hosting

Hi

I am looking ..er, I mean a 'friend' is looking for an online tool in which to host CVs or resumes depending on which side of the sea you are on.

An e-portfolio or social network would seem an obvious place, such as Eduspaces where I have started a profile It should look reasonably business-like with a bit of work

Do any of you have a space on something similar or better that you can wave at potential employers? It needn't be library specific. I have looked at LinkedIn but that doesn't really fit the bill for education and library work. Plus as it works on recommendations, I have only managed the grand total of one contact -so won't be getting many job recommendations through that route!

LinkedIn has many library professionals in it and that number is growing all the time.

Are you interested in the hosting ability or the networking ability the most?
Hi Alison,

sorry for such a delayed response, didn't get an alert that there'd been replies to my post - so spoilt these days that I expect every scrap of communication delivered to me on a gilt-edged Web 2.0 plate

had a look at Zoominfo, interesting concept although a quick search on myself brings up some out of date stuff and inaccuracies too. I can see how HR people might trawl that as a resources though

Brian, I looked at LinkedIn and it seemed limited for what I wanted and kind of against the grain for making contacts in library and education sectors. Plus I am too tight to pay for the premium account.

in the end I settled on Eduspaces - I wanted a resource that is part social network, part e-portfolio and it seems to fit the bill. CVs resources and the usual stuff can be hosted on there
