I've been in the group a while, yet never got around to introducing myself. I'm Morgan Mandel, an author from the Chicago area. Being an avid book reader, libraries have always fascinated me. When I found this network listed with ning, it seemed a good way to learn how libraries work and how librarians think.

My romantic comedy, Girl of My Dreams, has just become available and I'm scrambling to let people know about it. I'd like to send out postcards to libraries, but don't want them to get into the wrong hands. Short of calling zillions of libraries and asking who the contact person is, do any of you librarians have any suggestions how I can do this?

I know I should have thought about this before so I could be ready, but it slipped my mind as so many things do these days. (g)

Don't want to do any blatant advertising here, but if anyone has an interest in my book, my main website is www.morganmandel.com

Thanks for any help you can provide.

What about creating a myspace profile specifically for your book and then adding librarians and libraries as your friend. There are tons of them on there along with many other authors. I think this would be a great idea.
Great idea. I already have a myspace profile and am using my book now as the profile photo. All I have to do now is do a search for libraries. Why didn't I think of that?
Thanks,
Morgan
