This session will introduce participants to screencasting as an instructional medium and provide recommendations for creating effective screencasts.
Full Session Description (as long as you would like):
Screencasting software provides an easy and efficient way of providing instruction to users remotely. In order to be effective, creators of screencasts should have a grounding in learning theory and best practices. In this session, I will be providing an introduction to screencasting as an instructional medium, I will be explaining the pros and cons of a number of screencasting tools, and I will be providing recommendations for creating effective screencasts. Additionally, I will be suggesting creative uses for screencasts, both carefully produced ones as well as ones created on-the-fly.
