the future of libraries in the digital age
Your Name and Title: William TB Fee, Digital Collections & Authority Control Librarian / Graphical Materials Librarian / Disaster Response Librarian
Library, School, or Organization Name: State Library of Pennsylvania
Co-Presenter Name(s): (none)
Area of the World from Which You Will Present: USA/Pennsylvania
Language in Which You Will Present: English
Target Audience(s): Catalogers, Systems Librarians, LIS students
Short Session Description (one line): FRBR holds great promise for serials, but many problems as well.
Full Session Description (as long as you would like): Now that the library world has a new cataloging code (or will in Jan. 2013), it is time to look at the underlying theory and what it can do for us. In the 4 years since I started working with FRBR and serials, I have discovered a number of things about its implementation, for paper serials, reprint volumes and digitized items. In sharing I hope to help others as much as they help me.

When you refer serials included periodicals publications?
Thank you for your answer
Yes. Magazines, comic books, monographic series, newspapers, newsletters, etc. Just a handy word to cover them all. Thanks
