the future of libraries in the digital age
i would like to welcome myself to Library 2.0...great to have me here! ;) actually, i feel very excited to connect with folks who care about information access, civic engagement, learning and multiple literacies, and the evolution of libraries in this digital age/shrinking globe/collective consciousness, yes! feel the love! i am a Librarian in North Carolina...hoping to make a move from public to academic where i can focus more on professional development and be more intellectually engaged with faculty and student research. i have an MA in History from UI Chicago (African American and History of Sexuality) and MLS from UNC Chapel Hill. in addition to teaching info literacy in the library and local community college, i also teach Nia and somatic awareness for self-healing. it's fabulous. i love to read print books and blogs by all of you smart peoples. also love to sing to trees and birds and mushrooms on my walks in the woods and jump on trampolines and brew kombucha.

I am a librarian at The University of the South Pacific (USP) based in Suva, Fiji in the South Pacific. I have been serving USP for the past 25 years after I graduated from the University of Canberra in 1989. I was a paraprofessional at USP for 4 years before I went to Canberra Australia to study LIS. I love singing, camping and scuba diving which I have not been doing for some years due to busy schedule of my work. I manage library resources and coordinate information services for the 21 campus and centre libraries in the 12 Pacific Island Countries which come under USP. USP is a regional academic institution that offers a wide variety of courses in both under and post graduate programmes. You can always learn more about it in the USP website
My research interests include preservation of Traditional Knowledge using digital technologies, creating effective library and information services via mobile technologies, designing and managing effective learning /knowledge commons and information provisions and services on gender and sexuality.
Enjoy.
