Short Session Description (one line): Preliminary research results show current practices in library advocacy may not be the most useful way to positively influence politicians who make funding decisions about programs.

 

Full Session Description (as long as you would like): Under the supervision of Dr. Ken Haycock, a cohort of PhD students is examining the factors that influence decision makers when considering funding for libraries. This session will focus the preliminary results of research conducted at the provincial/state level in Canada. These results suggest current advocacy efforts in the library landscape may be off base....
