Full Session Description (as long as you would like): Thanks to IMLS grant RE-95-17-0104-17, librarians and library students will pilot and iterate on research labs that help LIS students get experience in both conducting research on library topics while also being mentored by senior and practicing academic librarians. This session will cover lessons learned in the first few months of the Design Thinking for Services Lab that could be applicable across other implementations of design thinking in academic library settings or for services in any type of library.

This is what came back from one reviewer: "This sounds pretty interesting in that it brings LIS students and librarians together to discover DT - at least that's what it sounds like. I would just want to have the proposer tell us what exact project he will describe. That is, good for us to hear about the project, but can he tell us what project was used to apply DT in an academic library - and did it work to improve the user experience - or what was the lesson learned if it didn't."
