Library and Information Center “Tours” Strand - Ideas and Questions

This new strand for the conference, where you would give a virtual "tour" of your library or library system, came out of two of the keynote sessions last year where library services were shown from Brazil and China. It was fascinating to see how in Brazil, for example, small roll-up storefronts and even bus stops were converted to mini libraries.  In some Chinese libraries, there has been a concerted effort to create public spaces for events and activities.

We're very interested in how you, your library, your school, your state, or your country is innovating in the use of libraries, library spaces, and library services. While you could show video in Blackboard Collaborate (using the "web tour" feature), we are thinking it will be just as effective and easier for the participants if you use photos instead.

Because this is a new idea, you are likely to have questions or comments, and we'd like to hear them and brainstorm with you! Please respond below.

Thank you!

Steve:  We are restricted in showing everything, but there's certainly enough photos and info to tell people about the Army library network (from Georgia to Guam and all parts in between).  Would that be of interest?
