Short Session Description (one line): Use book trailers to promote books, teach multiple literacies, and replace that old, boring book report.

Full Session Description (as long as you would like): Making and sharing book trailers, or video commercials for books, encourages 21st century learners by speaking in their digital language. The book trailer is a wonderful promotional tool for encouraging the reading of a certain book or books in a specific genre. Evaluating book trailers is a great way to teach multiple literacies by assessing text, audio, and visuals. Having students create book trailers gives you a current and fresh replacement for the written book report. Integrate technology in your library by creating and teaching book trailers.

I love this.
Looking forward to this presentation. I love books in all their forms so anything to help keep books popular is ok by me.

Great idea. I wanted to promote new books by projecting their covers and short introduction during break time at the library but haven't done it yet to tell if it works.
