My recent LIS Diploma course exposed me to the concept of mind mapping. My younger colleagues had experienced the concept in high school. I prefer to write lists of ideas and didn't find mind mapping a constructive thought process. To go through the motions, I used Word Art for the exercise. [copy enclosed]
Mind mapping was popularised and commercialised by Tony Buzan who cites on his website that the term 'mind map' is a trademark. As a commercial venture, it is far from the ideals that I hold of librarianship for freely sharing knowledge and resources.
