Full Session Description (as long as you would like):
Engage in an Online Embedded Librarianship program discussing how librarians are moving beyond the One-Shot Library Research Instruction Classes and the teaching faculties integrate the librarians into more of the learning curriculum courses whether virtual or real. Learn how Embedded Librarians support, conduct and organize highly customized Library Information Literacy Instructions.
The unique experiences as an embedded librarian has afforded me the opportunity to gather the best library skills, teaching, assessment, qualitative and quantitative analysis and practices at doing online embedded librarian positions at the undergraduate and graduate levels to five Colleges/Schools and Departments at the university. Those include: The College of Business; Literature and Languages; Communication and Journalism; Agriculture and Education. I am charged with embedded online library research instruction plus three face to face embedded courses as well.
Another unique aspect is that I have been able to turn the online embedded librarian research instruction materials into textbooks were I have co-edited three custom speech textbooks. Along with being the lirbarian in the Blackboard/ eCourse/ WebCT online course management systems to four classes each fall and spring semesters, I engage students with online library resources through, skype, podcasting, facebook, smartphones, iPads, iPods and twitter, Cha Cha, poll everywhere....
Embedded Librarianship meets the student's research needs in the virtual world of the library.
