Setting Priorities in Libraries: Focusing on the Transformation
Full Session Description (as long as you would like):
Can we move from a world where libraries stop counting transactionsand move to measuring transformations? What's the path forward? Inpublic libraries, how do we evolve from counting circulation into measuringcommunity impact? In academic libraries can we tie our activities to vastlyimproved scholarship, discovery and create the next generation of scholars andknowledge workers? In school librariescan we prove our contribution to improved learner performance and progress? AND, once this is done, can we build acollective will to communicate with POWER and influence decision-makers,funders and the public? All of thisrequires that we see the 21st Century patterns that will survive and alignlibraries with dreams of users. What are the top five things that we can focus on strategically in a post-print paradigm? In orderto libraries to remain what they are, they must change. If we do not change, we cannot remain what weare.
