Permalink Reply by Steve Hargadon on September 11, 2012 at 9:51am Hi, Mary! This looks really interesting. Because the conference is free, we have a policy that commercial entities have to be conference sponsors to hold a session. Would you like me to send sponsorship information?
Permalink Reply by Mary Appleget on September 11, 2012 at 10:59am Hi Steve! Well, sure we can look at sponsorship to the event. However, I'm not selling anything and the presentation has no up sale. I share the '12 Essential Brain Responsive Elements' and the research behind it. Additionally, I will share the top 'brain responsive' strategies for the digital-aged learners of the 21st century. Just fun, free info from the action research I apply and analyze as a teacher. I can take anything out that would imply sales of any kind.
Now, with that being said, I'll take your lead and go either direction. We can approach as a commercial entity or an individual, successful teacher with lots of action research to share. I'm an educational strategist that enjoys doing business. :) Let me know. I look forward to the conversation.
Thanks Steve!
Sincerely,
Mary
Permalink Reply by Steve Hargadon on September 11, 2012 at 4:25pm We do depend on vendors understanding the cost of producing the conference, and considering being sponsors. And we have to be strict about this--even though what you're sharing is free, the association and branding with your commercial offering are a benefit.
If you were to present as an individual with no affiliation to the company, and no branding on the material, then you could present without sponsoring. Alternatively, a non-compensated librarian or educator sharing the material would be fine.
Thanks for understanding. I'll send the sponsor sheet under separate cover.
Steve
