Short Session Description (one line): Web Scale Discovery is on the lips of many libraries these days, this session will look at a successful launch of the EDS product at Brock University.

Brock University recently implemented a Web Scale Discovery (WSD) System that was a culmination of efforts from across the Library. This session will cover the milestones accomplished during this implementation:

  • The initial decision making processes for selecting a WSD
  • Preparing it for public use
  • Testing it with users and measuring the continued impact the system had over time
  • The successes of project management and group work
  • Overcoming challenges with data migration
  • Utilizing guerilla inspired user experience research methods

The insights presented will help illuminate the behind-the-scenes planning and preparation required for a successful WSD launch.
