Is mobile technology something that your academic institution, or indeed the library within that, has adopted, or has the intention of adopted?

Have you developed a mobile website or mobile app, or are you using QR codes around the library building in some way?

I'd be really interested to find out what is being done, by whom, and how in the academic library world...

We are working with Boopsie to create a mobile app for our library that will provide mobile access to our catalog, showcase mobile optimized databases, and provide access to LibGuides and LibAnswers. We also have done a little bit with QR codes, adding them to promotional materials to bring patrons to our library website.
How are you finding Boopsie, Pamela? Is there sufficient skill in your library to use it, or are you finding that you need to collaborate with your IT department to get things done?
Boopsie does most of the IT legwork. We haven't involved our IT department at all but we did need support from our ILS vendor to get the OPAC records to work properly with it. We also had to get our marketing department involved in order to create the logos for the app.
We have a mobile-friendly version of our website, and have just started using QR codes this semester.  Currently, we're using QR codes in our reference stacks to let students know that we electronic versions of some of these titles.  We also have plans to create some e-resource promotional posters on a depart-specific level, that will be put in the appropriate buildings.
That's a great use for QR codes Justin, a real mix of the real and the virtual! Have you any idea what your customers think of it - how is take-up, would you say?
Thanks for your kind words, Laurence.  Honestly, we're too soon into the project to say just yet.  The only place where we've already got QR codes rolled out is in the reference stacks...our allied health students (who are the most smart-phone savvy) rarely come into the physical library.  My hope is that maybe a year from now, we'll have some hard data to help answer your question.
