Birth order? Body type? If you know of an interesting personality type system, share it here (or start a new discussion for it).

Here's a link to the section of Psychology Today's website that deals with personality in all its manifestations. There's a lot of good information there. Take a look!

(Amy, my brother is a year older than I am. Is that why I'm more stoopider?)
Our department is going to do the "true colors" workshop in January. While it's based on the MBTI, it seems some people prefer it's simplicity.
Birth order actually made it to the cover of Time magazine! Take a look.

Here's another interesting article on birth order. There are good points made for both sides of the argument.

(Thanks again, Lisa!)
My siblings have negated the birth order issue by disavowing our familial ties. It doesn't matter what they say, ! was not left on the doorstep by gypsies
Gail,

Any chance you could be the Queen of the Gypsies? You might want to work that angle. Tell your family that you won’t hold all of those years of mistreatment they subjected you to against them once you’re officially crowned!
Wow, I never thought of that angle, thanks! Now I just have to make my crown, spectre, robe, and other coronation gear.
If you’re looking for a counterpoint to all of this personality type stuff, you might want to read The Cult of Personality Testing: How Personality Tests Are Leading Us to Miseducate Our Children, Mismanage Our Companies, and Misunderstand Ourselves by Annie Murphy Paul. The author offers plenty of reasons why we should keep our eyes and minds open if we try to reduce something as staggeringly complex as a human personality into a set of simplistic categories.
I will look into that. I've worked for several libraries that subscribe to the idea of the immutable personality. Admin seems to think that if we all just could understand which quadrant each of us are in or what combination of quirks are in play then we would get along. In my experience, attending thesse bonding workshops only makes people more angry.

I heard a news story this morning about a recent experiment suggesting that we crave aggression and our brains are wired to seek violent behavior oulets. Do we really need a study to prove this?
