Hi
I came across this post on the 'Mobile Libraries' blog, which shows how a school is using Twitter as a learning/information tool for school children. I thought some aspects of it would be of interest to others on this site.

Hi Jean
I only started using Twitter about 6 months ago and it took me some time to get my head around it. I'm learning new uses for it all the time. It's not much good for conversations, as you can't always keep track of the conversation and people don't reply to your questions sometimes - possibly because they have missed the question in their long list of Twitter messages. I find it most useful for keeping up to date about what's going on and you pick up on useful things that other Twitter users have discovered. (sort of current awareness.) I don't tend to watch the news on TV or read newspapers, so I often find out things I should have known about via Twitter.

On the educational side of things have you seen www.artwiculate.com ? It tweets a word a day and people/followers tweet a message that includes that word. Other Twitter users can then vote for their favourite use of the word. It's a bit like doing a comprehension test, but a little more interesting.
