Comment by Laura Nicole Miller on July 1, 2011 at 7:59pm Hello everyone!
I am very pleased to be joining this discussion about Twitter as a tool in libraries. I actually have an interesting opportunity because I am working as a remote intern for Credo Reference this summer and my main focus is their Libraries Thriving community (http://www.librariesthriving.org)...which, obviously is not a physical library but is related to the library community. I recently started working on the social networking aspects of marketing the community and I just started using Twitter (@libsthriving) for this purpose. While the Facebook group and the LinkedIn group are interesting experiences for me as well, it's a little different with Twitter since I don't have a personal Twitter account and am therefore less than experienced with the tool. I'm finding that I've amassed followers by following others and I'm trying to create interesting little tweets to attract people to the Libraries Thriving community but I'm not sure how it's going. If you have any feedback on successful use of Twitter in this situation then please share and I am going to make use of all the advice that has been shared before I joined this group!
Thanks!
