the future of libraries in the digital age
Thanks to all of you who have already volunteered to help out with this year's conference! Last year's event was amazing and we are looking forward to another great online experience this year.
We are gearing up our call for volunteers now. Share the word through your networks and encourage those who are interested to join the Library 2.0 network and the volunteer group here on the site.
We'll have training sessions in September for presenters and moderators. You can attend one or more of these sessions.
A new addition this year--we'll have a Collaborate room that will be open through the month of September where you can login and check out how things work.
We'll also have a sign-up where you can indicate the days and times when you will be able to help.
I'll communicate with you through this discussion forum so you can keep up with new developments.
I look forward to working with all of you!

Permalink Reply by Chris Nelson on August 28, 2012 at 5:08pm Hello, I am very active in the Second Life virtual library community and you might have seen me puttering around the SJSU campus there as Snow Scarmon. I co-edit RezLibris on-line magazine and I have covered past conferences and wondered if this year I might be of some help.
Thank you, Chris
I'm in!

I'm happy to volunteer this year as well as present on Thursday.
I'll check the schedule to see when I can support after teaching my kiddos.
Thanks for co-hosting this important virtual conference with Steve. I love SJSU's program....just completed my Teacher Librarian and Masters last Spring....had the best experience continuing my learning...and entirely online!

I'm in and signed up for a few slots Wednesday. If you get closer to next week and still need someone for Thursday slots to fill I can help out there as well. I have a little bit of help Thursdays with a high school gal who comes over to help out so I can study so I'll have help w/the kiddos.
Let me know! I'm really excited. :)

Permalink Reply by Heather Dalal on September 28, 2012 at 11:41am Hi Debbie,
I believe I volunteered but since I didn't get a confirmation, I was wondering if I should try it again or if it would confuse the system. Is there a registered list? on Oct 4, I am speaking 10am EDT/7am PDT. I'd like to attend a colleague's session at 11EDT/8PDT, can I moderate hers? And I have no preference for the 12nEDT/9amPDT .
Thanks
Heather
Hi Heather-
You can see a list of the volunteer time slots by going to the following page, selecting your time zone, and then scrolling down the results page.
http://www.library20.com/page/sessions-and-schedule
The schedule page includes not only all of the sessions but also a list of all the volunteers and their times.
I can't promise that you'd be able to moderate your colleague's session at 11EDT/8PDT but we can try to match you up to it. Or, you can just plan to attend that session as a participant.
We ask volunteers to login to the volunteer lounge 30 minutes prior to the start of the next session to allow time for preparation, so that may cut into your time in the earlier session unless they end early.
