As often as I can, I listen to music from around the world. I customarily have music playing when the students walk into the library. One morning while teaching Summer School this season, to out going 6th graders, I was listening to music from Bollywood films, and of course the lyrics are in Hindi, but the music was "fantastic." - I have been a teacher for Chicago Public Schools since 1995. I started working as a librarian for the 2011-2012 school year. My educational background includes a B.S. in Junior/High Middle School education, with a reading teacher focus, a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with a technology in the classroom focus, and am currently in the last stages of completing an advanced degree in Instructional Technology. In addition I am taking courses to earn an endorsement in LIS. "1 down and 3 to go." I love what I do and would do it for free if I didn't have to pay the rent.
