Guess I might as well start a blog here too! Here's the first post just to get things rolling. Does everone have these? Anyway, right now I'm researching the use people are making of Twitter for reference and in libraries generally. Is it useful? I think there's a discussion thread about that here. I'm off to find it.

Hi John,
I'm a teacher librarian & recently started a community based blog for getting boys to read - http://GettingBoysToRead.com. Please send me a friend request if you'd like to network, share ideas, and learn more about getting boys to read.

Sincerely,
Mike McQueen

Hello John.

I can't say that I use this site much myself, obviously. However, I apparently still get email notices if someone leaves a message.

For me, this was one of many experiments that people have tried. In the early days of this Ning community, I was getting friend requests for a bunch of folks who were only interested in building their lists of friends, and not really in Library 2.0 stuff. I deleted a few of them, but I think it turned me off of the site and I had forgotten about it. At the moment, I am more into reading a finite number of blogs that I like and leaving comments if I have something to say. However, if the site has lost its hip newness factor, I suspect the people still using it are really interested in library 2.0. So maybe it is better now.
