Hello Walter!

While I am about to graduate from SJSU's SLIS program, I am hardly an experienced librarian! I have just started my first library assistant position a few months ago, and so I'm not sure about what I would recommend as far as actual career application goes :)  I will say that I am so happy to have had Derek Christiansen for my LIBR240 teacher (although many will disagree with me).  Have you checked out the yahoo group yet? The yahoo group has a lot of great recommendations on classes and professors, so you have more to go off than just my advice :)  I'll give you a few highlights from my school experience: learning HTML, CSS, and XML have been great; taking LIBR244 was a mistake; and I really wish I would have taken a metadata class!

Good luck on the program! Let me know if I can be of further help!
