Check out Swedish bibl feed

Friend and collegue Ake Nygren created a great community if your interested in what's up on the Swedish library scene using the Ning tool. The community is called bibl feed and collects rss-feeds from the Swedish biblioblogosphere.
And yes, there is a group for english speaking librarians, too.

How best to post a message for a group of people to check easily??

I will be taking over the duties of a parent coordinator for a therapeutic riding group and occasionally we have to cancel lessons due to weather, sick instructors, lame horses, etc. I need a quick and easy way to post the cancellation where parents can check before driving to the barn. I'm considering a verizon website but would appreciate your suggestions, especially if you have a similar situation.
