EIFL - Electronic Information for Libraries - is proud to announce the launch of 14 innovative public library services in Africa, Latin America and Europe. Funded by EIFL's Public Library Innovation Programme, (EIFL-PLIP)  the new services help meet national and local development needs in the areas of agriculture, supporting children at risk and vulnerable youth, health and employment. They all use cutting edge information and communication technology - including computers, the Internet and mobile phones - and a variety of social networking tools, like Facebook, webinars, twitter, skype and others. The new library services include a health service for the over 60s; an employment skills service for the homeless; a mobile phone youth employment information service; a campaign to fight TB; webinars to modernize farming methods, a farm-subsidy information and training service, and others. Read more about EIFL-PLIP and these exciting new services at www.eifl.net/plip. EIFL-PLIP and its partner libraries welcome your ideas and comments!
