Impressions of Community College Students’ IT Experiences by Judith Borreson Caruso (University of Wisconsin-Madison) was put out in the recent ECAR bulletin. I post this because it reveals some interesting pieces of data that relate to Web 2.0. A significant section of the document compares 4-year students to community college students.
83% of students in community colleges report using the library (report using it monthly) as compared with 95% in four-year institutions. Generally, community college students tended to have more technology gizmos than four-year students, but they reported using them for coursework less often.
