Virtual Research Center Promotes Idea Sharing for Innovative Projects

Information professionals, scholars, and students can collaborate on new ideas for innovative research by means of a virtual open lab as part of the Center for Information Research and Innovation (CIRI) at the nationally ranked San Jose State University School of Library and Information Science.

Recognizing the impact of collective wisdom, the School created a virtual open lab in order to generate new ideas for future research, innovation, and global partnership opportunities.

If you have a project that has stalled, the open lab may re-energize your research. Register to join the School’s research community, and submit your ideas for consideration. You can also add tags, vote, and give comments on ideas submitted by others. (The "Register" button is located on the very top right of your screen on the CIRI web page.)

Research areas include digital records and curation, information access and use, library and information science online learning, new literacies and learning, management and leadership, social dynamics of information, and technological innovation and change.

The San Jose State University School of Library and Information Science offers two fully online master’s degrees, a fully online certificate program, and a doctoral program: Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), Master of Archives and Records Administration (MARA), Post-Master’s Certificate in Library and Information Science, and the San Jose Gateway PhD Program.
