GolinHarris, the folks that do the PR for Nintendo of America, contacted us here at the PCLS and gave us 3 free Nintendo Wii systems, controllers, and copies of Mario Galaxy to use in our gaming endeavors. Is that not cool? We’re also in line for early releases on some of their new games.

It’s so encouraging to see the way librarianship (especially public librarianship) is shifting to include this type of service to our patrons. I love my job!

Special thanks go to my Library 2.0 friend and coworker Paul Stonebridge for coordinating the whole deal. You rock, Paul! (And even better, you rock for the PCLS!)

And a big Thank You! to the folks at GolinHarris and Nintendo of America for their generosity and support.

True confession: A patron in her seventies beat me down to the ground in a game of Wii ping pong when I demonstrated the Wii system to one of our book discussion groups recently. (I only let her win because I thought it would be good customer service. Really.) :P
