With limited funds and limited positions, how do academic libraries decide when it is time to design a new type of librarian position, especially if that might mean relinquishing a traditional librarian role? In this session, we’ll describe how a small, rural, regional comprehensive academic library collaborated with the campus Information Technology department and made the leap to creating an Instructional Design Librarian position. The Instructional Design Librarian will describe how her years as an academic librarian helped prepare her for this new adventure.
