Short Session Description (one line): To provide an overview of the social crises taught, approaches to those handle those situations and the importance of self-care to remain healthy in order to handle and recover from those situations.  

Full Session Description (as long as you would like): Crisis situations can arise in all types of libraries and impact staff and users.  Information professionals must be prepared to meet the social, psychological, medical and legal situations caused by drug overdoses, sexual assault, homelessness, neglect and mental illness.  In the course I teach, students explore the issues and possible resolutions to social crisis management.
