How can librarians utilize job crafting and personal branding techniques to connection to an new career or career advancement within their current organization.

Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

The Occupational Outlook Handbook states the employment of librarians is projected to grow 2 percent from 2014 to 2024, this is slower than the average for all occupations.  As the job market for traditional librarians slows, how can librarians expand career opportunities within their currently place of employment?  I suggest Librarians can find ways to “brand” and “craft” themselves into exciting work with a current employer. Job crafting is one way to ensure you do what you love. Combing crafting with personal branding librarians can identify unmet needs within an organization and rise their organizational profile. This will create an engaging environment and opportunities to enhance your skills and impact in the workplace.
