Full Session Description (as long as you would like):
Current students, recent grads and career changers are acutely aware that the LIS profession is evolving and with that, so are the “rules” to getting a job in today’s ever changing economy. Employers expect you to wear many hats and to get hired, you need to “tell your story” in such a way that you demonstrate quickly, concisely, and in an interesting and compelling way WHAT you have to offer and HOW you can add value. No matter what kind of information or library job you are seeking, you will benefit from this discussion in knowing how to present and market your strengths and qualifications. I’ll cover the world of work today; the skills that employers expect you to have and provide tips to help you “tell your story” in an interview.
