Full Session Description :

Developed by the University of Arizona Libraries, Guide on the Side is Open Source tutorial software that is easy to install and use. Guide on the Side tutorials are easy to create because there is no need for screen-casting. Instead, users get instructions on one side of the screen, and interact with the actual web page, catalog or other search tool in another pane on the other side of the screen. This is authentic learning at it's best! In addition, tutorials can include questions that check for understanding and provide feedback to the user. At our library (UC Merced) we are in the early stages of building tutorials with Guide on the Side. We are excited to share what we have learned about installing and using this game-changing new tutorial creation software.
