Full Session Description (as long as you would like): We cannot deny the changing role of a library in this digital learning world. A traditional library does not seem to be fulfilling the needs of our students. It’s time to revolutionize! At the American School of Bombay we have replaced a centralized library by introducing 6 Information Commons (iCommons). The iCommons is now become the center of a child’s learning space, supporting collaborative learning and truly bringing the resources at the fingertips of every child’s world.  

Bio: Heeru Bhojwani has been an Elementary School Librarian for the past twelve years at ASB. She holds degrees in Psychology - Philosophy, Education and Library & Information Sciences. She began her career in teaching elementary school and then moved on to become a librarian. Having travelled and lived overseas in Taiwan and Indonesia, she is back home in India. Presently. she is loving the merging of technology, information, e-books and supporting students in becoming fluent in Information Literacy Skills. Heeru has presented at NESA, PYP – Librarian Workshops, and at ISTE.
