Information Literacy? Future Ready Librarians Can Do That!

Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

While school librarians have long led and taught information literacy, the viral growth of social media and fake news have elevated this issue from a lesson taught in libraries to something that keeps educational leaders up at night. With experience both as a former teacher librarian and chief digital officer, Mark Ray will explain how future ready librarians can respond to this critical strategic challenge by leading, teaching and supporting information literacy and digital citizenship in schools. This information session will leave both administrators and teacher librarians with valuable new insights and skills in teaching and modeling digital citizenship and helping students become responsible, informed, smart users of online resources. Ray will share resources, training opportunities, and other options for educator training as it relates to digital citizenship.
