Full Session Description (as long as you would like): As a high school librarian with a passion for using emerging technologies to motive and excite youth to engage in learning in new and innovative ways, I will present tried and true ways to incorporate maker learning activities into a busy high school student's life.  As a PhD candidate, I have taken a strong interest in learning how makerspace activities can motivate students to engage in real-world learning within a school setting that leaves little flexibility or time for creative, play learning.  This session will introduce ways in which librarians can use maker activities in an inter-disciplinary fashion within the school day.  Attendees will learn how maker activities, ranging from simple to complex, can be built into library programming in order to allow students to learn new tech skills through exploration, collaboration, and trial and error.
