Full Session Description / Abstract: This presentation will discuss the San Jose State King Library virtual chatbot internship. In an attempt to introduce Artificial Intelligence in a clear and simple way, the presentation will discuss the major characteristics of a chatbot, illustrate examples of other library chatbots, as well as how a chatbot can greatly benefit libraries as a whole. This presentation will include a simple development strategy to build a chatbot using the chatbot development platform Dialogflow. The presentation will conclude and reflect on how information professionals can further conduct necessary chatbot research and best practices.
