NYU Current Trends in Public Libraries: Applications of Trauma-Informed Care for Vulnerable Populations

New York University is putting on a Continuing Education (NYLA and NYSED approved) Current Trends in Public Libraries: Applications of Trauma-Informed Care for Vulnerable Populations on April 3rd from 5-9pm. The aim is to explain the current and growing need for integration of social services in public library settings and will address the trend towards whole person librarianship and a trauma-informed framework. Our keynote speakers are Jean Badalamenti and Elissa Hardy who have integrated a trauma-informed approach to their libraries.  There will be a panel focused on vulnerable populations such as those experiencing homelessness, those incarcerated, and immigrants. There will also be another panel focused on student experiences in this host setting and the challenges they faced like HIPAA, confidentiality, etc. We hope you can attend! The link to register is listed below and the flyer is attached.
