Full Session Description (as long as you would like): In August, the NMC released the second library edition of the NMC Horizon Report series -- the NMC Horizon Report > 2015 Library Edition. The topics, selected by an international panel of library leaders, range from the key trends advancing emerging technology uptake, to the significant challenges impeding them, to important developments in technology that are poised to disrupt library operations and services. We take a five-year view to help leaders at every level strategize for the future. Subject matter such as the increasing value of user experience for digital library resources and the potential of information visualization for research reflects major trends in the consumer industry. These insights, paired with examples of innovation in action at real libraries, can help academic and research libraries enhance their offerings and better cater to their communities' evolving needs.
