Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

What do we mean when we talk about ‘emerging technology’ in libraries? What does it mean to be a “technology catalyst” in libraries? How is emerging technology integrated effectively into library operations and services?

The San Jose State University School of Library and Information Science and its Catalyst Partners are conducting a one-year planning grant to explore a new residency model for recent Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) graduates —a residency model focused on integrating emerging technology into libraries. During this planning year, we are working with our Partners which include the Association of College and Research Libraries, the Public Library Association, the Urban Libraries Council, and OCLC.

We will kick off the conversation by sharing our findings and insights to date, and then open it up to participants to solicit their experiences, thoughts and best practices. If you’re interested in emerging technology in libraries and residency programs of this nature, we encourage you to attend!
