Full Session Description (as long as you would like): What about second year seminar? Collaborating with faculty members to teach information literacy in a public health second year seminar: A case of instruction

This presentation will examine a case of identifying and developing an information literacy assignment to fit into a second year seminar on public health.  In higher education there has been an increasing movement toward varying levels of accountability. As this trend continues institutions are broadly implementing seminar courses at the undergraduate level, with the goal of producing a certain type of student upon graduation.  There has been a lot of focus on first year seminar and meeting the needs of first year students.  This presentation asks the question, what about second year seminar?  This session will cover: librarian faculty and faculty collaboration, increasing information literacy skill sets of second year students, and assignment creation, and instruction techniques.
