I'm a teacher librarian & recently started a community based blog for getting boys to read - http://GettingBoysToRead.com. Please send me a friend request if you'd like to network, share ideas, and learn more about getting boys to read.
Tom, we talked about Web 2.0 at the Archdiocesan Librarians meeting this week and decided to use a wiki for us all to discuss topics of mutual interest beginning with aspects of Information Literacy. As for tools that might create more interactivity with students, a couple of the librarians found setting up a blog for summer reading was useful.
"Most useful to patrons" is really the question. I've added a link to LibraryThing and added an IM widget, Those are really the only Web 2.0 thing I've added. By Web 2.0 I'm referring to tools which allow some kind of interaction.
It's really hard to judge usefulness, though. I've gotten a few bites on the IM but haven't really pushed or sold it yet.
I'm also looking hard at LibGuides which is a completely interactive service which would do a lot add interactivity (including a widget on FaceBook).
Looking forward to seeing you this afternoon. Maybe we can talk then.
