I earned my MLS in the late 70s and then took the next 25 years off to work in my family's real estate appraisal business.
Public librarianship is my heart's work. I returned to library duty in the early 2000s and worked for well-funded suburban library district as a reference librarian, digital services librarian and contact center manager.
In 2017, my job was eliminated. (I suspect ageism, but can't prove it.) It turned out to be a blessing in disguise: I now work with a community-centric district, serving and working with the most wonderful people imaginable.
