Maria is a doctoral candidate in the San José State University / Queensland University of Technology Gateway PhD program. She holds a BA, an MA Romance Languages and Literature, and MLIS, and has a twenty-year career as an academic librarian. She is former editor of Library Administration & Management (ALA, 1996-2000), and of Criticas Magazine (Reed Business, 2001-2004). Maria’s research will investigate library advocacy, theories of influence and how these impact funding decisions in the academic library environment.
