Hi, I'm new to Library 2.0 but I found your post very interesting. I've also been involved in introducing GIS to our campus and getting faculty interested at Haverford College. Part of the preliminaries is to explain what can be achieved with and without serious GIS tools like ArcGIS.
I was also invited to give a 'seminar' on info tools that may be interesing to K-12 teachers who come for a week of "intellectual stimulation" for lack of a better description. I'm going to show some ebook readers (Sony reader, Illiad) and some free metasearch tools and concept mapping tools that are fun and relevant. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

I'm finishing an activity tomorrow where students have used Google maps and maps to locate their home and the school and complete some tasks related to the route between the two. has a unique feature where it provides walking distance between two points. I haven't actually yet seen where it is different than the driving directions,… Continue

Internet@Schools Conference

Looking forward to the Internet@Schools conference next week, taking place during the Computers in Libraries Conference. If you're going and haven't added yourself to the conference wiki, check it out. I hope to see some of you all there; I need to study pics so I can recognize. If you see me around, please say hi! If anyone would like to meet up for food or drinks, I'm game.
