Library Programs

Last night I took in a program at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library about the James Bonds films. It was hosted by Raymond Benson, who has written 9 James Bond books, and Dann Gire, the film critic from the Daily Herald newspaper.

Their commentary was great, filling us in on tidbits we would otherwise not have known. The clips from the films were also great. A refreshing change of pace instead of staying home and watching TV.

What kind of programs does your library… Continue

I try to provide listeners with a bit of something they wouldn't ordinarily know about the authors and bloggers I'm interviewing. So far I've done 4 shows and plan to continue on Sundays at either 4pm or 9pm, depending on life… Continue

I'm At it Again - Another Display Case at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library

In August, a set up a display at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library to showcase Chicago-North Romance Writers of America, of which I'm a past president and remain a member.

I also reserved case for December to display my individual information. This morning I finished setting it up. As I was leaving, one of the patrons was already giving it a once-over, which made me feel good.

Along with the one shown above, I've also put up a few other photos from the…

Display case at Arlington Heights Memorial Library By Morgan Mandel

I spent the past Wednesday arranging photos and books from the members of Chicago-North Chapter of Romance Writers of America in the display case at my local library, the Arlington Heights Memorial Library. Afterwards, I took photos with my new toy, an iPhone. Here's one of my photos:…

Hi Morgan, What fun to have an author who went to college when I did :-). Be sure to check out Jamie Langston Turner's books. She is a friend from college who also has 5 or so books published.

I'd be happy to read your imaginative script, I would like to find someone who can get access to librarians. I would give 50 cents per cd order to that person

Thanks for the invite. My SIL lives in Chicagoland. I didn't realize that people besides my husband really called it that! Though they're from corn/soy country in the middle of the state originally...

Hi Morgan,
I'm completely new at this - social networking has only very recently entered my vocab. I guess we elementary school librarians don't get out much... Thank you for the invite. I suppose my world is sort of the inverse of yours - I am employed as a librarian and work on the side as a writer. I've been working on a middle grade children's novel for the past three years. Prior to my life as a librarian, I was a journalist.
