Yesterday I was instructed to begin shopping for 9 laptops; 8 for a lab, one for myself. I'm currently surfing the web for good deals but have yet to find anything substantial. I have a few specs (15" display, at least 2 usb ports, wireless card, MS office), and told to not go to Best Buy. Best Buy has a bad reputation from the general public, but I've found if you know how to cut through the salesman crap it's not so bad.

I have an HP laptop I really like, It's probably my favorite brand at the moment. The 8 for the lab will have to be the same, all PC's. I was told to get whatever I wanted for myself. I hope that means a Mac, buf I think they'd probably want me to stick to a PC even though I could run Windows on the Mac.

If anyone has dealt with making big computer purchases and knows of any retailers I should look at or avoid, lemme know.

You might want to check out TigerDirect, (http://www.tigerdirect.com), they usually have really good deals. I've ordered computers from them in the past without hassle. Good luck!
